Land Management

The majority of 'wild' habitats require ongoing management in order to maintain high levels of biodiversity.

Without sufficient management, habitats can become low-quality, or be taken over by invasive species.

Sangan Island Conservation aims to provide our management services so those wild and neglected areas can be revitalised and enhanced for local wildlife.

The can be achieved by:

  • Creating tailor-made management plans for a site
  • Habitat creation and restoration with ongoing management
  • Invasive species control (including Japanese Knotweed)
  • Footpath creation and maintenance
  • Species management

It is important for wildlife that land is effectively managed so as invasive species are kept at bay. Effective land management can save money in the long term.

We can offer the following services:

  • Implementation of a survey or management plan (either written by ourselves or those which have been written by other companies)
  • Regular review of plans in order to provide follow on surveys so as progress can be tracked
  • Hedgerow planting/maintenance
  • Constructions made from willows, such as compost bins and live willow archways
  • Design and creation of wildlife gardens
  • Wildlife pond creation
